THINGS THAT ARE CANADIAN

Sunday, July 1, 2007

Since it is Canada Day I thought I would tell you some of my favorite Canadian things.

Tim Hortons- There is nothing like any of their donuts and Timbits. I really like the hot chocolate.

Smarties- I had a box yesterday. There is just something about them that makes everything alright.

Canadian Tire Money- You aren't Canadian if you don't have this kicking around. I know once a year I go looking in my house for it. (Our Canadian Tire store (which is like a hardware store) gives you its own money back on a percentage of what you buy. You can only spend it in the store like real money!)

Wait...wait! That's not what Smarties look like! Smarties are PASTEL. And they don't come in boxes--they come in cellophane wrappers twisted at each end, in little rolls like coins ready to go to the bank...

Are Canadian Smarties DIFFERENT from U.S. Smarties? Have they been altered since my childhood? WHAT'S UP WITH THE SMARTIES?

    I love Tim Hortons!
I am a coffee nut! One pot in the morning..One in the afternoon...lol..

No, really not that much but I do love it (ok, I like the cream and then the coffee.)

Everytime I clean my bedroom, I sweep up Canadian Tire money. How does it get everywhere like that?

Okay..wait. Are you now telling me that Smarties are CHOCOLATE? Did I interpret that correctly?

I propose an international candy exchange. (Is that legal?)

In a bizarre twist, it turns out that the REAL Smarties originated in England and are...are you ready?

    ...MADE IN CANADA
