Finally Bratz Dolls Are Finished!
Thursday, December 4, 2008
Finally someone has listened and are pulling Bratz dolls from the shelf after Christmas. These dolls were released in 2001 and even Dr. Phil said they looked like hookers. And we all know Dr. Phil is right about everything!
The popular line of fashion dolls has been found to infringe on Mattel's Barbie dolls and will be removed from store shelves after Christmas.
In the lawsuit, Carter Bryant, the creator of Bratz, was found to have come up with the idea for the dolls while working for Mattel. As a result, the manufacture of the more than 40 kinds of Bratz figures has been banned. The entire Bratz business has sold $3.1 billion in dolls in seven years. MGA will also need to pay $100 million in damages.
But this won't solve all of Mattel's problems...Hannah Montana dolls are still out there! But this is still a great start!

i let my 9 year old read this article. her comments were,"they are stylish", which i totally agree. bratz dolls out styled Barbie and she's envious. Bratz dolls surfaced and left Barbie is smoke. Barbie didnt keep up with fashion and the $ proved it and the moms and dads proved it as well by buying them and leaving Barbie dolls on the shelf with tears. If they resemble hookers then millions and billions of moms and dads seem to agree, even someone in Dr. Phil's family tree. Barbie, get over it! You are old! This decision will not boost your sales again. Kids move on. Oh yeah, i am one of the least offended by comments. Happy Holidays!

Actually, no one listened. The dolls are only being discontinued because of a legal dispute between Mattel and MGA. The fact that the Bratz line look like hydrocephaloid prostitutes has nothing to do with it- toy makers and marketers will continue to produce fashion dolls in this vein (i.e. sexually provocative and focused on the superficial) far past the date that the Bratz dolls are history.

we must think outside of the box and media on this. this is CORPORATE AMERICA. do you think these people just realized this.. NO WAY! the realization came when Barbie stopped selling. Thats when all of this surfaced. Money is power and we dont exactly know what happened behind closed doors. Money makes enemies...

They are not officially discontinued entirely. On Feb. 11th they will go for post-trial decisions, but all of the dolls can be sold until then. Most likely the only ones that will fall under the umbrella of intelligence property law are the originals he designed, not the ones subsequent in the line.
IMHO, your parenting time is better spent addressing moral issues with your children at home and worrying less about what types of toys are being manufactured. They will see a lot worse than Bratz dolls on girls at the local malls. Change starts at home.

I Think it's bad for them to have made Bratz dolls go. Becuz think about when you watch allll of those Barbie movies it's something about some boy and adventures. ALWAYS! Barbie and Ken c'mon.
Bratz on the other never dealt with stuff lyk that only in the last movie they made. But in all the other ones it'z about friendship and just be yourself, people will love you better that way. Its also about not every letting anyone tell you what you can't do.
Plus its mean pretty girls can b corny! lol. But yeah. i think it was a stupid move.

Bratz dolls do look a little ho'ish. But it's up to the parents to teach their kids right from wrong. I got every bratz doll that existed when they first came out and now I'm a teen, but i don't dress like they do. Any parent who complains about how they look needs to realize that it's their job to teach their kids how to act and dress and they can't blame a doll for the way their daughters dress.

Bratz are awesome. Mattel should be devastated because they will probably run out of business too because they murdered Bratz! I have a ton of bratz and they got wet and moldy so I was like "That's ok!!! I'll get some more!!!" But NO!!!! The stupid barbies just HAD to come along and kill them off, one by one!!! I will NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER AGAIN buy a barbie ever again unless its a fairy!!! Really, it wasn't nessasary.

I think that it stinks that they took Bratz off the shelf's. Even though I never was much of a person to play with toys, I enjoyed the small collection that I own. I wanted to expand on my collection, but then they were removed.

parents have gone so stupid nowadays.do they even look at their parenting skills? what's more important is that YOU should teach your daughters how to respect themselves rather than asking a DOLL to teach everything to them.anyways i love bratz. at least they tell you to travel around the world instead of being a half naked fairy or a princess like barbie.
